Growth, Gratitude, and Finding My Footing at BMC

As we approach the holidays, I’ve found myself reflecting on what this season has meant for me — personally, professionally, and spiritually. This year has brought one of the biggest transitions of my career: closing a decade-long chapter at BIDMC and stepping into a system-level role as Accreditation Manager at Boston Medical Center.

It has been emotional, exciting, humbling, and energizing all at the same time.

And yet, the theme that keeps rising to the surface is gratitude.

A Transition Filled With Meaning

The first days at BMC have reminded me why I chose this path. Accreditation is rarely the glamorous part of GME — but it is absolutely one of the most impactful. It’s the framework that protects trainees, strengthens programs, and supports faculty and staff in delivering high-quality, equitable medical education.

In these early weeks, I’ve been welcomed with intention and warmth. I’ve met leaders who care deeply about structure, quality, and culture. And I’ve already had those moments — the ones that make you pause and think, Yes. This is exactly where I’m meant to be!

What This Season Has Taught Me

This transition has highlighted a few truths I want to carry into the new year:

🌱 Growth is uncomfortable — but necessary.

The best opportunities often require us to leave what’s familiar, even when it feels bittersweet.

💛 Gratitude keeps you grounded.

I carry nearly ten years of learning, relationships, and purpose from BIDMC into this next chapter.

✨ Change creates clarity.

Stepping into a new environment shows you exactly who you are, what you value, and what you’re capable of.

Looking Ahead

As the year winds down, I’m grateful for the space to reflect and the strength to move forward. I’m excited to continue building systems at BMC that support trainees, elevate program teams, and strengthen the heart of GME.

This is just the beginning — and I’m stepping into it with purpose.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, restorative holiday season.

Here’s to growth, gratitude, and the next chapter.
